Bionanomatrix-FD is a peptide-based nanomatrix coating developed by Endomimetics for application on flow diverters used to treat cerebrovascular diseases, specifically intracranial aneurysms. The technology utilizes self-assembling peptide amphiphiles to create a biomimetic environment that provides sustained local delivery of nitric oxide (NO) and incorporates endothelial cell adhesive ligands. This mechanism is designed to accelerate endothelialization over the flow diverter, promote aneurysm occlusion, and reduce complications such as thrombosis, restenosis, and inflammation. By promoting rapid vascular healing, the coating aims to minimize the need for prolonged dual antiplatelet therapy and its associated bleeding risks in brain aneurysm patients.
