Overview

Bionetide (NA-921) is a small molecule drug developed by Biomed Industries, Inc. It is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials for the treatment of Rett Syndrome and Fragile X Syndrome. Administered orally, Bionetide is designed to readily cross the blood-brain barrier. Its mechanism of action involves modulating MECP2 expression, thereby addressing the core epigenetic dysfunction associated with Rett Syndrome. The drug also promotes neuroprotection and neurogenesis. Clinical trial results suggest a favorable safety profile compared to existing treatments for Rett Syndrome.
