Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Biorepair Plus is a line of advanced oral care products featuring the patented microRepair technology, which consists of biomimetic zinc-substituted hydroxyapatite crystals. Developed by the Italian company Coswell in collaboration with the University of Bologna, these particles are chemically and structurally similar to natural tooth enamel and dentin. The mechanism of action involves the deposition of microRepair particles onto the tooth surface, where they bond to the natural hydroxyapatite, filling micro-scratches and occluding exposed dentinal tubules. This process remineralizes the enamel and provides a protective barrier against acid erosion and bacterial biofilm formation. Additionally, the release of zinc ions provides an antibacterial effect, helping to maintain periodontal health and prevent plaque accumulation. Biorepair Plus is primarily used for the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity and the prevention of dental caries and enamel wear.
