Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BioResponse-DIM is a microencapsulated, absorption-enhanced formulation of diindolylmethane (DIM), a phytonutrient found in cruciferous vegetables. It is being evaluated as a non-surgical intervention for cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), particularly high-grade lesions (CIN 2/3). DIM acts by modulating estrogen metabolism, specifically increasing the ratio of 2-hydroxyestrone to 16-alpha-hydroxyestrone, which is associated with reduced risk of estrogen-dependent cancers. Additionally, it exhibits anti-proliferative, anti-angiogenic, and pro-apoptotic properties in HPV-transformed cervical cells. The clinical development for CIN has been led by investigators at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
