BIOS-0618 is an investigational small molecule P2X3 receptor antagonist developed by Hangzhou Baicheng Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. (Bio-S) for the treatment of neuropathic pain. P2X3 receptors are ATP-gated ion channels primarily located on peripheral sensory neurons, where they play a key role in the transmission and sensitization of pain signals. By selectively inhibiting these receptors, BIOS-0618 aims to reduce the hyperexcitability of sensory nerves, thereby alleviating chronic pain. The drug is currently being evaluated in early-phase clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics, with the goal of providing a new therapeutic option for patients with refractory neuropathic pain conditions.
