Overview
Bioseal is a fibrin sealant developed by Guangzhou Bioseal Biotechnology, designed for use as an adjunct to sutured dural repair in patients undergoing craniotomy. The product consists of two primary biological components: fibrinogen and thrombin. Upon application, thrombin facilitates the conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin, creating a stable, cross-linked matrix that adheres to tissue surfaces. This mechanism provides a watertight seal to prevent cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks and supports localized hemostasis. Bioseal is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for neurosurgical indications, aiming to improve surgical outcomes by reducing the risk of postoperative CSF complications.
