Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Biotex is a non-resorbable, monofilament surgical suture developed by Purgo Biologics specifically for oral and dental surgical applications. Composed of 100% polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), the suture is sterile, uncoated, and undyed, featuring a stainless-steel surgical needle. It is indicated for soft tissue approximation and wound closure in various procedures, including bone grafting, periodontal surgery, guided tissue regeneration (GTR), ridge augmentation, and dental implant surgery. The PTFE material is biologically inert and provides a smooth surface that helps prevent bacterial adhesion and plaque formation, thereby reducing the risk of infection and promoting optimal wound healing in the oral cavity.
