Biotin is a water-soluble B-complex vitamin (Vitamin B7) essential for normal cellular function and metabolism. It acts as a coenzyme for carboxylases involved in the synthesis of fatty acids, gluconeogenesis (glucose production), amino acid catabolism (especially branched-chain amino acids), and other metabolic pathways[1][5][6].
