Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Biovaginil is a probiotic-based food supplement developed by NTC S.r.l., containing the specific strain *Lactobacillus crispatus* NTCVAG04 and vitamin A. It is designed to rebalance the vaginal microbiota and is investigated for the prevention and treatment of bacterial vaginitis and vaginosis. The NTCVAG04 strain is associated with a healthy vaginal environment, characterized by low pH and the absence of infection markers like clue cells or a positive whiff test. Vitamin A is included to maintain the structural integrity and function of the vaginal mucous membranes. The product is administered orally as sublingual granules, intended to promote the restoration of healthy vaginal flora through distal colonization or systemic support of mucosal health.
