Biphasic insulin aspart 30 is a premixed insulin analog suspension consisting of 30% soluble insulin aspart (a rapid-acting insulin) and 70% protamine-crystallized insulin aspart (an intermediate-acting insulin). Developed by Novo Nordisk, it is designed to mimic the physiological insulin secretion pattern by providing both a rapid onset of action to control postprandial glucose spikes and a prolonged effect for basal glucose management. The soluble component is absorbed quickly, while the protamine-crystallized component is absorbed more slowly due to its crystalline structure.
