Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Insulet 30/70 is a biphasic recombinant human insulin preparation developed by Aristopharma for the management of diabetes mellitus. It consists of a mixture of 30% soluble (regular) insulin and 70% isophane (NPH) insulin. The soluble component provides a rapid onset of action to control postprandial glucose levels, while the isophane component provides a prolonged duration of action for basal insulin coverage. By binding to the insulin receptor, it stimulates glucose uptake in skeletal muscle and fat, while inhibiting hepatic glucose production, thereby regulating glucose metabolism. It is produced using recombinant DNA technology and is administered via subcutaneous injection.
