Overview

Bireociclib is a cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) 4/6 inhibitor, structurally and mechanistically related to ribociclib. It is an investigational small molecule designed to inhibit the activity of CDK4 and CDK6, key regulators of cell cycle progression from G1 to S phase. By blocking these kinases, bireociclib aims to prevent cancer cell proliferation, particularly in hormone receptor-positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) breast cancer. Bireociclib is being developed for use in combination with endocrine therapy for advanced or metastatic HR+/HER2- breast cancer.
