Overview
TY-0201 (Bisono Tape) is a transdermal patch formulation of bisoprolol, a highly selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker. Developed by TOA EIYO in collaboration with Main Luck Pharmaceuticals, it is designed to provide sustained plasma concentrations of bisoprolol with lower peak-to-trough fluctuations compared to oral formulations. The patch is applied once daily to the chest, upper back, or upper arm. It is approved in Japan for the treatment of hypertension and atrial fibrillation, and is currently in Phase 3 development for chronic heart failure. The transdermal delivery system is intended to improve patient compliance and provide a stable therapeutic effect over a 24-hour period.
