Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Amoduo is a generic fixed-dose combination drug containing the beta-1 selective adrenergic receptor antagonist bisoprolol fumarate and the dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker amlodipine besylate. Marketed by Win Medica in Greece, Amoduo is indicated as substitution therapy for the treatment of hypertension and stable coronary artery disease (chronic stable angina) in patients whose blood pressure is already adequately controlled with the individual components administered concurrently at the same dose levels. Bisoprolol reduces heart rate and cardiac output, while amlodipine relaxes vascular smooth muscle to decrease peripheral vascular resistance, providing a synergistic antihypertensive and antianginal effect.
