Overview

BiSpekDAb is an **engineered bispecific domain antibody** designed to simultaneously target **interleukin-23 (IL-23)** and **tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α)**. The molecule consists of an anti-IL-23 domain antibody and an anti-TNF-α domain antibody fused together via flexible linkers, along with a half-life extension partner. It is developed as a novel biologic therapy to attenuate pulmonary inflammation and airway hyperresponsiveness associated with **asthma**. In preclinical models, subcutaneous administration of BiSpekDAb significantly improved airway function, reduced inflammatory immune cell infiltration, suppressed cytokine production, and lessened histopathological changes in the lungs by inhibiting both IL-23 and TNF-α pathways[1][3]. This dual-targeting approach represents a potential new therapeutic strategy for severe or refractory asthma. The drug's route of administration in animal models was subcutaneous injection.
