Overview

Bisphosphocin Nu-3 is a novel synthetic small molecule antimicrobial under investigation for the treatment of chronic diabetic foot ulcers and other infections. It belongs to a new class of antimicrobials called bisphosphocins and has demonstrated broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The drug is being developed primarily as a topical gel for use in patients with Type I or II diabetes mellitus who have non-healing or infected diabetic foot ulcers. Clinical studies have shown that Bisphosphocin Nu-3 can significantly reduce ulcer area and microbiological load compared to placebo, with no reported treatment-related adverse events.
