Bisthera is a pharmaceutical formulation of colloidal bismuth subcitrate (120 mg) developed and marketed by Enactis Healthcare. It is primarily used to treat gastrointestinal conditions such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, chronic gastritis, and non-ulcer dyspepsia. The drug acts as a mucosal protective agent by forming a coating over the ulcer base, stimulating prostaglandin synthesis, and increasing bicarbonate secretion. Additionally, it possesses direct bactericidal activity against *Helicobacter pylori*, making it a standard component of quadruple therapy for *H. pylori* eradication. By protecting the gastric mucosa and reducing the bacterial load of *H. pylori*, Bisthera facilitates the natural healing of ulcers and prevents recurrence.
