BIV201

BIV201 is a continuous infusion formulation of terlipressin acetate being developed for the treatment of ascites due to liver cirrhosis. It is administered via a portable infusion pump, which delivers terlipressin slowly throughout the day rather than as a single bolus injection. This approach has shown to reduce the incidence of drug-related severe adverse events. BioVie has developed a novel liquid formulation of terlipressin that has demonstrated stability at room temperature for at least 12 months, which is considered an important advantage for treating ascites patients in home care settings.
