The bivalent human papillomavirus vaccine (Pichia pastoris), developed by Walvax Biotechnology and its subsidiaries Zerun Biotechnology, is a prophylactic recombinant protein-based vaccine designed to prevent infections caused by HPV types 16 and 18. The vaccine utilizes recombinant L1 virus-like particles (VLPs) expressed in *Pichia pastoris* yeast and is formulated with an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant. It is indicated for the prevention of cervical cancer, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN grades 2 and 3), and cervical adenocarcinoma in situ in females aged 9 to 30 years. Administered via a three-dose intramuscular schedule (0, 2, and 6 months), it has demonstrated high efficacy and immunogenicity in clinical trials and is approved for use in China.
