The bivalent influenza virus split vaccine is an inactivated vaccine developed by the Shandong Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, designed to provide protection against two specific strains of the influenza virus, typically Influenza A subtypes H1N1 and H3N2. As a split-virion vaccine, it is produced by disrupting the virus particles with detergents or solvents, which reduces reactogenicity while maintaining the immunogenicity of the surface antigens, primarily hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase (NA).
