Overview

Bivinal is a multi-vitamin formulation composed of essential B-complex vitamins, typically including Thiamine (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Pyridoxine (B6), and Nicotinamide (B3), with some formulations also containing Cyanocobalamin (B12) and Calcium Pantothenate (B5). These vitamins function as vital coenzymes in a wide array of metabolic processes. Thiamine is essential for carbohydrate metabolism and neural function; Riboflavin is a precursor for FAD and FMN, which are critical for electron transport; Pyridoxine is involved in amino acid metabolism and neurotransmitter synthesis; and Nicotinamide is a precursor for NAD and NADP, essential for cellular energy production. Bivinal is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of Vitamin B deficiency syndromes, such as beriberi, peripheral neuropathy, and glossitis, and is used as supportive therapy in conditions of increased nutritional demand or impaired absorption.
