Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Biyan Tong fumigation lotion is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation developed by the Shenzhen Hospital of the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine for the treatment of allergic rhinitis. It is administered via fumigation, a delivery method where the herbal solution is heated to produce steam that is inhaled through the nasal passages. The formulation is intended to alleviate symptoms of persistent allergic rhinitis, such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and rhinorrhea, by modulating inflammatory responses and metabolic pathways in the nasal mucosa. Clinical evaluation includes a Phase 0 study focusing on its efficacy, safety, and underlying metabolomic mechanisms compared to a normal saline control.
