Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BJFSH102 is a selective small-molecule inhibitor of microfibril-associated protein 4 (MFAP-4) under development by Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University. It is designed to treat liver fibrosis by disrupting the interaction of MFAP-4 with extracellular matrix components, specifically elastin and collagen I. In preclinical models of carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)-induced liver fibrosis, BJFSH102 has demonstrated the ability to ameliorate fibrogenesis by preventing MFAP-4-mediated extracellular matrix stabilization and subsequent hepatic stellate cell activation.
