Overview
BJT-628 is an orally bioavailable, liver-targeted small molecule developed by Bluejay Therapeutics for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B. It acts as a hepatitis B virus (HBV) transcript inhibitor, specifically designed to reduce the production of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) from HBV-infected cells. By inhibiting HBV transcription and HBsAg production, it aims to contribute to a functional cure for chronic hepatitis B and is expected to be an effective combination partner with other agents such as monoclonal antibodies targeting HBsAg. As of early 2023, its development status was preclinical[1][2][3][8].
