Overview

BJTJ-0047-1 is an investigational long-acting dual agonist targeting the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) receptors. Developed by Beijing Tuobixi Pharmaceutical (also known as Beijing Tuojie Pharmaceutical) in collaboration with Meiji Seika Pharma, it is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of obesity and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). The drug is designed as a peptide that mimics the action of endogenous incretin hormones to enhance insulin secretion, suppress appetite, and improve hepatic lipid metabolism. By co-activating both the GLP-1 and GIP pathways, BJTJ-0047-1 aims to provide superior weight loss and metabolic benefits compared to single-receptor agonists, potentially reducing liver fat and inflammation in patients with MASH.
