Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BKT130 is a broad-spectrum, promiscuous chemokine receptor antagonist being developed by Biokine Therapeutics for the treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Unlike selective antagonists that target a single receptor, BKT130 is designed to block multiple chemokine-driven pathways simultaneously, addressing the complex inflammatory and angiogenic environment characteristic of AMD. By inhibiting a range of chemokine receptors, the drug aims to reduce the infiltration of inflammatory cells and the formation of pathological new blood vessels in the retina. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development and is part of Biokine's platform of chemokine-derived peptides.
