BL-1020

BL-1020, also developed as CYP-1020, is an investigational oral small-molecule antipsychotic for schizophrenia. It is a single covalent mutual-prodrug ester linking perphenazine to gamma-aminobutyric acid, designed to combine dopamine D2 and serotonin 2A receptor antagonism with GABAA receptor agonist activity. BioLineRx advanced the program through Phase II studies, including a 6-week randomized study that showed antipsychotic efficacy at 20-30 mg/day and a signal for cognitive improvement; however, the subsequent Phase II/III CLARITY study in schizophrenia was terminated.
