BL173-hUMSCs is an allogeneic cell therapy product composed of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUMSCs). Developed by Renji Hospital of Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine, it is being evaluated for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. The therapy involves the intra-articular administration of these multipotent cells, which are intended to alleviate pain and improve joint function by modulating the inflammatory environment within the joint and potentially promoting the regeneration of damaged cartilage.
