Overview

Black soybean oil is an edible oil extracted from the seeds of black soybean (Glycine max). It is used primarily as a dietary supplement and a contemporary topical treatment for certain inflammatory skin conditions, notably eczema[8][2]. Black soybean oil is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, plant sterols, tocopherols, and unique phytonutrients such as isoflavones and anthocyanins, which provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects[9][3]. The oil may help reduce oxidative stress, lower LDL cholesterol, and support cardiovascular health, and some animal and limited human studies suggest possible protective effects against age-related bone loss, diabetes, obesity, and metabolic syndrome[5][10][9]. In topical applications, it can help with skin barrier protection, hydration, and reduction of irritation or redness, making it beneficial for certain skin conditions[6][2][8].
