**BLB501** is an investigational intranasal pandemic avian influenza vaccine developed by CyanVac and its affiliate Blue Lake Biotechnology. It uses a live, attenuated parainfluenza virus 5 viral-vector platform engineered to express hemagglutinin antigens from influenza A H5N1 and H7N9 viruses. Nasal administration is intended to induce protective systemic and mucosal immune responses against avian influenza infection; protective efficacy has been reported in multiple animal models, including mice, guinea pigs, hamsters, and ferrets.
