BLEX 404 + docetaxel is an investigational combination therapy composed of BLEX 404, an orally administered β-glucan polysaccharide derived from the maitake mushroom (Grifola frondosa), and docetaxel, a well-established chemotherapeutic agent classified as a taxane. BLEX 404 acts as an immunomodulator, primarily by activating innate and adaptive immunity—enhancing macrophages, dendritic cells, helper T cells, cytotoxic T cells, and natural killer (NK) cell function—via increased interleukin-12 (IL-12) production and granulocyte/macrophage colony stimulating factor activity. Docetaxel stabilizes microtubules, preventing mitotic cell division and promoting apoptosis in cancer cells. This combination is under investigation for the treatment of advanced or metastatic cancers, specifically including triple-negative breast cancer. The investigational regimen aims to augment antitumor immune response while leveraging the cytotoxic activity of docetaxel[1][3][5].
