BLEX 404 + gemcitabine

BLEX 404 + gemcitabine is a combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of advanced inoperable or metastatic pancreatic cancer. BLEX 404 is an oral liquid formulation of an extract from the medicinal fungus *Antrodia cinnamomea*, developed by BioLite (a subsidiary of ABVC BioPharma). It is designed to be administered alongside gemcitabine, a standard-of-care nucleoside analog chemotherapy. The combination aims to improve therapeutic outcomes by leveraging the potential anti-tumor and chemo-sensitizing effects of the botanical extract's bioactive components, such as triterpenoids and polysaccharides, in conjunction with the DNA synthesis inhibition provided by gemcitabine. A Phase II clinical trial (NCT03301805) sponsored by Rgene Corporation has investigated this combination in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma.
