Overview

BLI-1401, also known as BLEX 404, is a botanical drug derived from an extract of the Maitake mushroom, with β-glucan identified as a main component. Developed by ABVC BioPharma and its partners, the drug is being investigated for its immunomodulatory and anti-tumor properties. The proposed mechanism involves stimulating both innate and adaptive immunity by activating immune cells such as macrophages, T cells, and natural killer (NK) cells. It has also shown potential to enhance hematopoiesis. Clinical development is underway for several oncology indications, including non-small cell lung cancer, pancreatic cancer, triple-negative breast cancer, and myelodysplastic syndromes.
