Overview

BLI1100-2 is an investigational topical gel formulation developed by Braintree Laboratories for the treatment of moderate to severe acne vulgaris. It was evaluated in a Phase 2 randomized, controlled clinical trial (Study BLI1100-202 / NCT01744106) that compared four different formulations of the drug against a placebo in 369 patients. The trial assessed efficacy based on the reduction of inflammatory and non-inflammatory lesion counts and the Investigator's Global Assessment (IGA) score. Although the Phase 2 trial was completed in 2013, the active pharmaceutical ingredient and specific molecular target remain proprietary and have not been disclosed in public literature or clinical registries. Braintree Laboratories was acquired by Sebela Pharmaceuticals in 2018, and there have been no recent reports of continued development for this candidate.
