Overview

Blokium is a brand of diclofenac sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) developed and marketed by Laboratorios Casasco. It functions as a non-selective inhibitor of the cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain, fever, and inflammation. Blokium is primarily indicated for the management of acute musculoskeletal inflammatory processes, post-traumatic and post-surgical pain, and various inflammatory conditions including arthritis and degenerative rheumatism. It is available in multiple formulations, most notably oral tablets (50 mg and 75 mg), but is also produced in injectable and topical forms to address both systemic and localized inflammatory symptoms.
