Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BloodSTOP is a biocompatible hemostatic matrix and wound dressing developed by LifeScience Plus. Composed of 100% plant-based etherified carboxymethyl cellulose (eCMC), it is designed to control bleeding from a variety of sources, including minor cuts, surgical wounds, and severe arterial hemorrhages. Upon contact with blood or exudates, the material transforms into a clear gel that seals the wound and activates the intrinsic coagulation cascade, significantly accelerating clot formation. It is available in several formulations, including BloodSTOP iX and BloodSTOP iX Battle Matrix, and has received FDA 510(k) clearance for topical hemostasis and European Union CE Class III certification for use with anticoagulant medications.
