Overview

BLR-100 is a preclinical-stage peptide therapeutic being developed by BLR Bio in collaboration with the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research. It is designed to target the tumor stroma by inhibiting Connective Tissue Growth Factor (CCN2/CTGF), a protein that plays a critical role in the dense fibrotic reaction (desmoplasia) characteristic of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) and other solid tumors. By modulating the tumor microenvironment and disrupting the stromal barrier, BLR-100 aims to enhance the delivery and effectiveness of standard-of-care chemotherapies. This approach potentially allows for the use of lower, less toxic doses of chemotherapy while maintaining therapeutic efficacy, addressing the high mortality and treatment toxicity associated with pancreatic cancer.
