**Blue Cap** is a Catalysis topical dermatology product line whose studied foam formulation contains activated piroctone olamine. In the registered pediatric atopic dermatitis study, Blue Cap Foam was applied twice daily for 30 days to affected skin. Piroctone olamine is an antimicrobial and antifungal hydroxypyridone compound used in topical products for inflammatory and scaling dermatoses; Blue Cap products have also been described for seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, xerosis, and eczema. The name Blue Cap encompasses multiple topical formulations, including foam, cream, spray, and shampoo.
