Overview

BM-hMSC exosomes are extracellular vesicles derived from human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BM-hMSCs). They are being investigated as a cell-free delivery vehicle for therapeutic agents, such as microRNAs (e.g., miR-128), due to their ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and selectively home to glioma tissues. In preclinical models of glioblastoma, these exosomes have demonstrated the capacity to deliver synthetic microRNA mimics that downregulate oncogenic targets like BMI-1, thereby inhibiting tumor growth and improving survival.
