Overview

BM38 CAR-T is a humanized bispecific chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy designed to target both B cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and CD38 on multiple myeloma cells. By simultaneously engaging these two antigens, BM38 CAR-T aims to overcome resistance and relapse associated with single-target immunotherapies in relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM). The construct incorporates 4-1BB signaling and CD3ζ domains for enhanced T-cell activation and persistence. In phase I clinical trials, BM38 CAR-T demonstrated potent anti-myeloma activity with high response rates in heavily pretreated RRMM patients. Common adverse events included cytokine release syndrome (CRS), neutropenia, leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia; neurotoxicity was not observed[1][3][4][5].
