Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BMC321 is a rationally designed live biotherapeutic product being developed by Biomica for inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. The product consists of a defined consortium of selected live bacterial strains intended to restore microbial diversity and functional activity in the gut microbiome and to reduce gut mucosal inflammation. Rather than acting as a conventional small molecule or biologic against a single molecular target, BMC321 is a microbiome-based therapeutic designed to deliver multiple beneficial functions through its constituent microbes, with the overall therapeutic goal of modulating intestinal inflammation in IBD.
