Overview

BMC322 is an investigational, rationally designed **four-strain live bacterial consortium** developed to reduce intestinal inflammation in inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Biomica selected constituent bacteria through functional metagenomic analysis of IBD-associated microbiome functions linked to lower inflammatory activity, intestinal-barrier integrity, and colonocyte function. In vitro work and preliminary dextran sulfate sodium-induced colitis mouse studies reported anti-inflammatory activity, faster recovery, lower disease-activity measures, and reduced fecal lipocalin-2.
