Overview

BMD006 is an inhaled mRNA-based tumor-associated antigen (TAA) vaccine developed as a dry powder formulation for the treatment of advanced lung cancer and solid tumors with lung metastasis. It is designed as an "off-the-shelf" immunotherapy that delivers mRNA sequences encoding specific tumor antigens directly to the lungs via inhalation. The product exists in two configurations: one containing four mRNA sequences targeting melanoma-associated antigens for patients with lung metastases, and another containing six mRNA sequences targeting primary lung cancer antigens. By inducing a localized and systemic immune response against these TAAs, BMD006 aims to inhibit tumor growth and progression. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials both as a monotherapy and in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors like PD-1 antibodies or the bispecific PD-1/VEGF inhibitor ivonescimab.
