Overview

BMN 355 is a monoclonal antibody developed by BioMarin Pharmaceutical intended to treat long QT syndrome types 2 and 3, a genetic condition that impairs proper electrical function in the heart and can lead to abnormal heart rhythms. The drug was designed as a disease-modifying therapy for this condition, which currently has no approved treatments that modify the disease course. BMN 355 was in preclinical development with plans for global clinical trials initially targeted for around 2025. However, BioMarin discontinued development of BMN 355 in early 2024 as part of a strategic portfolio prioritization, not due to safety concerns but to focus on other pipeline assets[1][2][5][9].
