Drug intelligence / Profile preview
BMP9-0093 is a **monoclonal antibody** that **selectively targets bone morphogenetic protein 9 (BMP9)**, also known as growth differentiation factor 2 (GDF2), without binding to the close homolog BMP10. Developed as a therapeutic antibody candidate, BMP9-0093 neutralizes all BMP9 variants, inhibiting BMP9-induced signaling. This leads to inhibition of endothelial cell signaling, ET-1 production, and restoration of pericyte migration and attachment, as well as reversal of BMP9-mediated epithelial–mesenchymal transition in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cells. In vivo, BMP9-0093 exhibits significant anti-tumor activity in RCC models, inducing tumor apoptosis, reducing tumor cell proliferation, suppressing ET-1 release, increasing mural cell coverage of endothelial cells, and reducing tumor vascular permeability[1][3][7].
