Overview

BMS-135 is a novel, potent small molecule inhibitor of Casein Kinase II (CK2) developed by Bristol Myers Squibb. CK2 is a serine/threonine kinase that is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML), where it plays a critical role in promoting cell survival, proliferation, and resistance to therapy. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that BMS-135 induces G0-G1 cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in AML cell lines and patient-derived xenograft models. Furthermore, BMS-135 has shown synergistic cytotoxic activity when combined with standard chemotherapy agents such as daunorubicin and cytarabine, suggesting its potential as a combination therapy for drug-resistant AML.
