BMS-770767 is an investigational small molecule drug developed by Bristol Myers Squibb as an oral inhibitor of the enzyme 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11β-HSD1). This enzyme is widely expressed in the liver and other tissues and plays a key role in glucocorticoid metabolism. By inhibiting 11β-HSD1, BMS-770767 was intended to reduce local cortisol production and thereby improve metabolic parameters relevant to conditions such as type 2 diabetes and dyslipidemia. The compound has been studied in clinical trials for hypercholesterolemia (primary hypercholesterolemia/dyslipidemia), but there are no approved indications or known adverse events reported[1][3][5][6][7].
