BMS-823778 + metformin

BMS-823778 + metformin is an investigational oral combination of BMS-823778, a potent and selective small molecule inhibitor of 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11β-HSD-1), and metformin, a well-established first-line treatment for type 2 diabetes. BMS-823778 acts by reducing intracellular activation of glucocorticoids, addressing tissue-specific glucocorticoid metabolism implicated in metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. Metformin is a biguanide antihyperglycemic agent that primarily decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity.
