BMS-903452 is a potent and selective small molecule agonist of the G-protein-coupled receptor 119 (GPR119), developed by Bristol Myers Squibb for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. GPR119 is primarily expressed in pancreatic β-cells and enteroendocrine cells in the gastrointestinal tract. Activation of this receptor stimulates glucose-dependent insulin release from pancreatic β-cells and promotes secretion of incretin hormones such as GLP-1 from intestinal cells, thereby improving glycemic control. BMS-903452 was evaluated in phase I clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and effects on blood glucose levels in both healthy subjects and patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus[1][2][3][4][5].
