Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination regimen used in clinical trials, consisting of BMS-955176 (also known as GSK3532795), moxifloxacin, and placebo. BMS-955176 is a second-generation HIV-1 maturation inhibitor developed to block one of the final steps in the HIV viral lifecycle—maturation—resulting in the release of immature, non-infectious virus particles. It was designed to overcome resistance seen with first-generation maturation inhibitors and has demonstrated broad activity against various HIV-1 subtypes and polymorphisms[2][3][5][9]. Moxifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, used primarily for bacterial infections. Placebo serves as an inactive control substance in clinical studies. This combination was studied primarily for pharmacokinetic interactions or safety assessments rather than as a therapeutic regimen for any specific disease.
